The Board of Directors has created committees responsible for tasks that are vital to achieving its objectives and meeting members' expectations. Standing committees are responsible for recurring activities, while ad hoc committees receive specific and time-limited mandates.

The genealogy and history committee

Its mandate is to propose historical and genealogical topics to the association; to prepare history and genealogy columns for the needs of the association; to review and validate historical and genealogical content published by the association; to participate in public fairs and activities to promote the history and genealogy of the Gagnon and Belzile families; to respond to members' requests for information on the history and genealogy of the Gagnon and Belzile.

Consulting genealogists can also offer people who wish to do so a more exhaustive search, in some cases for a fee.

The periodical committee

Its mandate is to publish the newsletter "La Gagnonniere" to the members of the association four times a year, in February, May, August and November. It is available in digital or paper format. In the newsletter you will find: the word of the president, news from the association, and chapters; as well as various columns, columns and other articles of interest to members: genealogy, history, reflections, news (personalities, events). Members are also invited to share their passion for history and genealogy through articles. The bulletin is partially translated into English. It is available to members in good standing on the association's website. The list and photos of promotional items for sale are included, and sponsors are invited to advertise their organization. There are also inserts on assembly activities and promotions.

External relations and Communications committee

Its mandate is to assist the association's board of directors and that of the chapters with their communications to the general public at special events; to ensure relations (correspondence and representations) with the "Gagnon de France" cousins and the United States; to issue communications to the various media; and to coordinate external communications with the website committee, the genealogy and history committee, as well as the "La Gagnonnière" newsletter committee.

Website Committee

Its mandate is to modernize the association's website by adding more content and functionalities.
Planned improvements include: developing a bilingual French/English site; designing sections reserved exclusively for members in good standing; enriching the site's historical and genealogical content; providing the site with a private Gagnon and Belzile genealogical database that will allow members to conduct simple, quick and specific genealogical research; creating links to other sites relevant to our history, our genealogical processes and our descendants; making our forms more accessible and facilitating their printing and transmission.

Facebook ad hoc Committee

The Facebook page "Les familles Gagnon et Belzile inc. was created in the fall of 2014 by Carole Gagnon as head of external relations. The ad hoc Facebook committee "Les familles Gagnon et Belzile inc. "was then created with the mandate to make the association known to a wider audience; to create links between all Gagnon or Belzile descendants in America and Europe; to publish information about the history and genealogy of the Gagnon and Belzile ancestors; to highlight the Gagnon and Belzile personalities, past and present, for their contribution; to promote the identification of people and places related to the Gagnon and Belzile; to allow members to express their questions and/or knowledge about the Gagnon and Belzile; to answer questions thanks to the contribution of our genealogists and active members; to promote the activities and meetings of the association and its chapters; to promote the association's newsletter "La Gagnonnière" and recruit new members.

Monuments and Historical Sites ad hoc Committee

Its mandate is to ensure the good condition of monuments and plaques on the historical sites of the Gagnon ancestors. It ensures the maintenance and repair of the Gagnon monuments (and the surrounding land), as well as plaques on historical sites (UNESCO Park, ancestral home land on the concessions of the Gagnon ancestors). It lists existing "Gagnon" historical monuments and sites, their locations and stories. Reports to the Board of Directors on information and actions to be taken.
